Assessment before coronary angiography
The decision to advise angiography is based on symptoms, risk factors, examination, ECG findings and other cardiac investigations. It is not required for every patient with chest pain.
Before the procedure, the cardiologist may review kidney function, allergies, medicines, bleeding risk and previous reports. The procedure location, preparation and consent are discussed separately.
